About Calico Reaction
Calico Reaction was established on Live Journal back in December of 2005. Since that date, Calico Reaction has reviewed over 500 books, mostly in the speculative fiction genre. Science Fiction, Fantasy, Horror, Urban Fantasy, Steampunk, Alternate History . . . you name it, Calico Reaction has probably reviewed it. Young Adult titles are reviewed often, provided they are of the speculative fiction sort. However, there are times you may find reviews for historical fiction, mystery, romance, thrillers, and other such non speculative fiction genres. There’s also nonfiction, graphic novels, comic books, short stories, and at times, magazines.

About the Administrator
Shara received her Bachelor of Arts from Hollins University in Roanoke, VA, where she majored in Music and minored in Creative Writing. She graduated in 2003.
In 2005, she attended the Odyssey Writing Workshop at Saint Anselm College in Manchester, NH. There she studied with editor Jeanne Cavelos and learned from authors James Morrow, Allen Steele, P.D. Cacek, Elizabeth Hand, Steve Rasnic Tem and Melanie Tem.
In 2008, she received her Master of Arts from Seton Hill University in Writing Popular Fiction, where she completed a Science Fiction novel as her thesis project, titled Entanglement. Her mentors were Tobias S. Buckell and Timons Esaias.
Review Policy
As of October 2011, and due to a backlog of personal reading, Calico Reaction is not accepting ARCs nor review copies from publishers or authors at this time.
